I'm a big Star Wars fan and a huge fan of the Jedi Knight series.
So I'm planing on getting The Force Unleashed next month.
The problem is that I have both a Wii and a PS3.
I mostly use my PS3 as a media center and for the Blueray and my Wii to play games.
But since this game is coming out on both platforms I'm a bit torn.
Should I get the PS3 which has better graphics or go for the Wii version (Lightsaber and Wiimote are a mach made in heaven!)
Your thoughts?SW: The Force Unleashed - Wii or PS3
I'm in a similar position with my Wii and 360. My plan is to rent both versions of the game, and then buy whichever one I like more.SW: The Force Unleashed - Wii or PS3
I'm in the same position, but I've decided to get the Wii version just for the controls. The graphics are decent too.
Ps3 it blows the wii away gfx wise
Wii version for controls and duel mode!
I recommend waiting for the review of both versions before you decide.
im gunna rent them both first
you should of put this in the system ars form ince its in the wii form wii is probley going to get more votes
Wii
I'd say the Wii version, but I think System Wars is the best place to ask this.
Odd. the poll on the Wii board favors the Wii version?!
My thoughts: The Wiimote is not being used in any fashion than identifing simple up, down, left, right movements. The nunchuck for force pulls and pushes. While I thought at one point in time that would be amazingly fun, I have since played a lot of games where I try to move the remote and it misinterprets my actions, thus it does the wrong action and I either get hit, lose, whatever other than what I wanted to do.
That alone is enough for me to avoid controls that are frustratating more than fun. If the remote acted as a pointer for the force and allowed me to fine tune my actions with something that doesnt' screw up all the time (the IR on the wiimote works 99.99% of the time in all games, as opposed to the motion controls) then we would be talking differently.
Throw in the fact you will have a Wii exclusive dual mode that will rely heavily on these motion controls. Ever played SF2 or any other brawler where the controls would misbehave on you every so often? Yeah, epic lose/frustration there.
For now, total kick arse graphics beat wonky motion controls IMO. Yeah... that opinion has changed quite a bit over the last 8 months I have been expecting this game.
The Wii game will also have more levels, but if they were critical to the story, the other versions would have them too. Thus it appears to be fluff to make it seem like the Wii is compensating for the graphical drought.
I will definitely try out the demo of the X360 edition. Unless that version disappoints that is the version I will get. I might rent the Wii version after the fact, or if the X360 demo sucks.
PS3 the PS3 version has the better graphics and the physicis engine the wii version has...a ps2 game with wiimote support and a little fighting game thrown in
You should wait to see how well the light saber controls work first. If they do it better than Soul Calibur Legends then they'll be pretty good, cause most of the time Soul Calibur Legends gets it right. But raahsnavj has a point that the motion controls don't work as well as the IR, but they can still work pretty good. So I guess wait.
Here's the way I see it: If the controls on the Wii aren't significantly better than the other versions and the game actually scores higher because of so, get the PS3 version. There's no point in investing if the controls are just more pointless wrist shaking.
