Is the Wii Lost?

I am contemplating on buying a Wii. I have played my Brother's and it is extremely fun. However, I have looked over the games and they seem soo childish. My question is this, is the wii ever going to come up with games that will be refered to as ''hardcore''? I love first person shooters, RPGs with amazing graphics, but I really love the wii mote and nunchuck. I want to know if I can expect any games that fit this persona, of if the wii is lost.Is the Wii Lost?

Yeah. It was lost for a while but it turned on it's wifi and went to google maps and found its way home.
the wii is far from lost..i have to admit i did buy one close to launch and sold it not long after, just wasnt anything out that really grabbed me.. recently got one again though and i have to say im absolutely loving it.no more heroes, metroid prime 3, resident evil umbrella chronicles have all taken up my timenot forgetting the fact it is completely backwards compatible with all the great cube games
there's a lot of hardcore stuff that people ignore because they wanna complain about somethingthere's RPG's coming out, like fragile, TOS, and others (I don't really follow RPG's, but I do buy them)there's FPS's like COD5, and the conduit (both coming out soon), metroid prime 3, and medal of honour heroes 2.There's also pointlessly bviolent games out there, like the american version of no more heroes, (I'm UK andkinda like it's toned down violence), Manhunt 2 and madworld.Then there's just plain good fun games that may seem childish, like mario galaxy, super smash bros brawl, mario kart, wii sports.I don't really get why people would call any of these ''casual'' except wii sports, since most of them are leaving a large amount of space for ''perfection'', actually the more ''casual'' the games are in this lineup the more they seem to have to do with your ability... maybe gamers are getting lazier
the wii is far from lost, its the best selling console dont believe the system war forum lol in the fps department we got red steel farcry vengance cod 3 cod world at war medal of honor vanguard medal of honor heroes 2 the condult which 2 of these are coming-cod5 and the condult, no more heroes is either 3ps or first person i have yet to play it , alone in the dark , timesplitters 4-arguablly one of the best fpses of last gen is coming out with a 4th installment on wii 360 and ps3 im getting the wii version for its motion controller , 360 for just the heck of it the racing genre mario kartclasssic british motor racing which is only 1999 new lolcruisn cars cars motornationalmx vs atv untamed kawasaki jet ski nfs seriessportsmadden nfl seriesnba live series and wwe series of games i also think tiger woods is on wii as well as bowling on wii sports or other games ,adventure/platforming-super paper mario super mario galaxylegend of spyro a new beginningcrash of the titanssonic and the secret rings free roamingdriver paralel linesscarface world is yours the god father black hand edition horror games or similar manhunt 2 resident evil 4 resident evil uchouse of the dead 2/3 return ghost squadupcoming house of the dead 4 dead rising chop til you drop fightingssbbmortal kombat armageddon dbz and theres plenty more in the recommendation threadas far as rpgs-ffcc life as king ffcc soon-disc titletales of symphonia 2 ff choch somthing expect paper mario to come ,fire emblem among others
dude take this from a hardcore gamer who has a wii and regrets it! DO NOT buy the wii if your into shooters or rpgs all the wii has is casual crap that will get boring in a few days im serious wii sports is fun then.....wow its just gets that boring. and even the games like zelda and mario are getting dumbed down for 5 year olds, and old ladies....

I agree with GCN-beats-PS2. I bought my wii on launch day and played it for about two months. Afterwards i really didn't enjoy it. in fact I don't think I've played my wii for a year, so I might just sell it. Even my psp entertains me more. Don't waste your money and buy a ps3 or 360.

That's like saying: ''Wow, X-Box sucks, just look at Vampire Rain!''
Resident Evil 4, Legend of Zelda TP, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros Brawl, etc.
Give the Wii 1-2 years and some more masterpieces will be coming out
I've enjoyed my Wii. The motion controls are great, the only shame is that there aren't more games that take advantage of them. In the past two years we've had some major releases including Corruption, Zelda, and Super Mario Galaxy. I don't think the Wii is lost, it's only taking a break. I would also suggest getting one.

First of all, get over yourself. If you refuse to play Mario and Zelda because you think they are ''childish'' then you are very immature.Second, if you are looking to play first person shooters and RPG's with amazing graphics, you're looking at the wrong system.
It really depends on what you look for in a system. The Wii has some fun games, but overall the library of titles for the Wii is pretty weak. Anybody who says the Wii has a tremendous library of games is a fanboy most likely. However, when a game is good on the Wii it's very good. I barely ever play mine anymore, however, I would never sell it because there is quality in the system

I wouldn't say the Wii is lost the Wii is a lot of fun. I have to say I enjoy my 360 a lot more than the Wii, but I have been having a lot of fun with it now. For example I will buy Madden on the Wii from now due to the controls, makes it a lot more fun. Also Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros are really good as well. Medal of Honor Heros 2 is a really good FPS with great online, and for RPGs that Dragon Quest game looks pretty fun.
