i said this on another thread but i decided to make a new topic, talking about Wiimusic btw......WTF is Nintendo doing? They are selling us out, making a quick buck from casual gamers who may buy this retarded piece of crap out of interest but will soon realise 'why am i sittin in front of a screen trying to orchestrate music when i can just enjoy listening to it...?' They will pick up and 'play' until they realise either how stupid they look or how diabolically boring it is! Im holding out for a few decent looking third party tites myself but after the E3 catastrophe i've realised Nintendo doesn't really have anything good on the horizon. It really is a shame for the hardcore audience who have supported Nintendo thru and thru for years on end, yet they're washing away good franchises by changing their image to 'Everyone can play!' Mario Kart is a prime example....What the hell have they done??? It's a coin toss who wins a race... no real challenge, no extreme skill involved. Just a few blue shells in a row, a lightning, a bullit bill and you've recovered from last to first! It seemed to have started when GCN was behind PS2 and XBOX. Sony and Microsoft started to appeal to more hardcore gamers than Nintendo, releasing more adult orientated games, Ninty decides to go for the lower end of the market age group, which in turn had a profound effect on third party developers who drop their support as a result. Now the tables have turned because Nintendo decides to concentrate on the casuals, a good money making scheme i might add but a sorry state of affairs for us who loathe gimmicky games that the first and third parties seem to feed us week in, week out. I mean how many FPS games have u seen? Barely any that have hit the standard we all hoped to expect to come from a console with a near perfect control scheme for that particular genre. Im not saying they should stop releasing casual games, but maybe they should concentrate a bit more on pleasing the very gamers who made them who they were back when they ruled the market.I stress this is all my opinion and i want to hear others views on the subject, i know i'm not alone here....Nintendo's bailing on us!
i dont think nintendo is bailing on us imo nintendo is saving all the good games for next year Nintendo's bailing on us!
Nintendo isn't bailing on us. They just haven't got any ideas. Also Wii games take a little bit longer than most because of all the scripting for the wiimote.
i dont think nintendo is bailing on us imo nintendo is saving all the good games for next year
Mario, Zelda, Brawl, Mario Kart
We have all the good games already though
I was thinking nintendo could have 4 systems running at the same time. Like keep the wii going and also have another system with no motion sensing and great hardcore games, also have another handheld like the psp with joysticks and better graphics for gamecube ports. Then nintendo could appeal to everyone! If they did it right, it would be awesome, but nintendos not interested in making an awesome system, theyre interested in making money.
And you don't think Sony and Micro$oft want the same?

It's sad but true.
You have a good idea, but if Nintendo had 4 systems going they would lose too much money and would have the audience split in 4s.
Nintendo knew the Wii would get all the casuals to buy it and it worked, they need to keep making this **** to keep the casuals, they don't want Zelda, or SSB, they want Wii Music and Carnival Games.

Good point...
Nintendo is trying to make money. By expanding their customer base they can make more money. Making cheap games also allows them more money. Sony and Microsoft both have other industries to fall back onto if they flop. Nintendo doesn't, they have to take the safest route to profit.
Nintendo isn't bailing on us. They just haven't got any ideas. Also Wii games take a little bit longer than most because of all the scripting for the wiimote.
Im sorry mate, but that is absolute rubbish! The developers take much longer to make the graphically astounding games on other systems. There are far too many developers with a carefree attitude towards Wii, thinking that because it's the most popular system they can just release shovelware and ports with no effort or imagination and think 'Ok it looks like crap, it's not too difficult to play but it will appeal to the casual audience'. There's not enough developers who actually care too much about their product, very few actually go that extra length to give us a unique intuitive experience which we all hoped for when Wii was first announced.
Ok -- look. Nintendo now has two audiences to take care of. The Core and the Expanded audience. They've done their bit with the core. Now it's time for the Expanded audience %26 in early 2009 you'll get your core titles. Also -- Look at third party titles/WiiWare/VC/Another Console in the time being.
They aren't ''bailing'' on us, their priorities are with the casual gamer.
Allow me to copy and paste this from my post in the Wii Music thread because the same needs to be said. This really makes me laugh. People are worrying too much. Let's take a step back in time. Okay earlier this year people were saying ''Oh 3rd. Party for Wii sux!''. Now here we are now and we have 3rd Party companies coming out with some really good games. Now people are saying ''1st part support for Wii sux''. Am I the only one who sees that people will complain no matter what? Casual gamers are not a threat to us hard core gamers. I think many of you fail to see the economic benefits of us hardcore gamers. Nintendo makes millions upon millions off of just us. So why do you think that abandoning us is in their schedule? That's ridiculous. Nintendo will not stop making cool and awesome games for us. Heaven forbid they do not realease something for a good while. It doesn't really bother me. I have resorted to beating a lot of my older games that I have failed to beat for now. Not appealing to us does not make economic sense, so keep in mind something is coming. I think everyone who keeps up with the changes in the world of gaming knows that E3 is not for us anymore, but for the shareholders. So I really don't care about E3. ''E3 is casual'', well I don't care. Whoopdee doo! Here is my advice: relax.Wii Music is not the end of the world.
Oh heaven forbid they release one casual game this year.

I'm a hardcore gamer, and I respect what Nintendo is trying to do. They want to expand the market so more people can enjoy some piece of the action. Heck, I'm even playing games with people who never usually play games and I have fun. I still get some of the great I've always loved, such as Metroid Prime 3, Zelda, Smash Bros, Galaxy, Resident Evil (both), Mario Kart and Strikers, and Mortal Kombat. I even picked up different games, such as Guitar Hero, Medal of Honor 2, Manhunt 2 and No More Heroes. If you complain about lack of great games, blame the other companies, because Nintendo is already making or made the games we enjoy.
nintendo is bailing  I wouldn't have super smash bros. if nintendo was bailing.
You know what? I'm not even gonna waste my breath. Its ridiculous how people complain about Nintendo. I'm not gonna even try to explain because people can't see beyond themselves.
